🔄 Step-by-Step Registration Process

Trademark Search

Search IP India database, TMView, and internet to ensure your mark is unique and not conflicting with existing registrations. Use ipindiaservices.gov.in for public search.

File Application (Form TM-A)

Submit online via ipindia.gov.in. Include mark image (9×5 cm), class(es), goods/services description, applicant details, and payment.

Vienna Codification

For device/logo marks, examiner assigns Vienna Code classifying visual elements. Processing time: ~1 month.

Examination

Examiner checks formalities, distinctiveness (Section 9), conflicts (Section 11). Issues Examination Report if objections arise.

Response to Objections (if any)

File response within 30 days (extendable). May require hearing at Registry.
